Rachelle Crupi was born and raised in Las Vegas, a UNLV Finance and Pacific Coast Banking graduate I started my banking career in 1984. Most of my career was in commercial lending focusing on real estate. One of the highlights of my career was being a founding employee at Nevada First Bank (acquired in 2006 by Bank of Nevada), reaching profitability just 6 months after opening. The bank grew to approximately $200million in assets within the first five years. After leaving Nevada First Bank, I joined BankWest of Nevada, now known as Bank of Nevada as Executive Vice President and Regional President. My first big assignment was to open Bank of Nevada's new Hualapai location, a stunning building that blends in beautifully with the environment, and which became profitable immediately after opening. During my time at BON I have expanded my job to oversee five additional branches.
Although I really enjoy my banking career, my true passion is volunteer work and travel. Currently I am Board President of The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, Southern Nevada Affiliate. Our mission is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care for all, and energizing science to find the cures. I am also on the board of the Nevada State Development Corporation, which is a non-profit organization licensed by the SBA to underwrite, process, fund, and service loans through the 504 Loan Program. We have helped nearly 1,500 businesses obtain approximately $1.8 billion in real estate and equipment financing, leading to the creation of approximately 1,900 new jobs. Previous boards have been the Risk Management Association and American Disabilities Association. My husband of ten years (News 3 reporter Steve Crupi) and I have a passion for international travel. We enjoy traveling to Southern Africa to view endangered wildlife and assist with conservation efforts. Traveling outside of the United States helps me to both appreciate what we have here at home, and expand my understanding of how things can be improved for the future.
A few quotes that I enjoy:
"In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations."
- From The Great Law of The Iroquois Confederacy
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better, it's not."
-The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss |
